In theory, a 3rd gear run and a 4th gear run will give you the exact same HP readings after their computer compensates for your gear selection. In practice, I expect 3rd gear to suffer more frictional losses than 4th. So the final drive change will also be canceled out, provided you give that information to the dyno operator. If you don't tell them, the machine will assume you have the stock rear end and miscalculate your HP.
